Every 15 Minutes - Mock DUI Drill

2006-05-30

Ferndale High School hosted Every 15 Minutes, a program that educates teens about the dangers of drinking and driving. Along with the Ferndale Volunteer Fire Department, other participating agencies were: Fortuna Police Department, Ferndale Police Department, California Highway Patrol, and City Ambulance. The mock DUI crash had one student DOA, one student was airlifted in critical condition (later dying), and a third student was transported by ambulance. The student portraying the drunk driver was arrested on scene and over the course of two days, a visit to the morgue, a mock trial, and a final assembly completed the program.
