CDF provides FVFD with an annual training on helicopter loading and safety. Run in conjuntion with the Lost Coast Bicycle Tour, the training refreshes FVFD personnel on selecting a landing site, how to approach the chopper, and how to load patients. Afterwards we go for a quick aerial tour of Ferndale.
