remembering our fallen brothers

It is with heavy hearts and profound respect that Ferndale Fire Department honors the memory of five extraordinary men we lost in 2025.

We pause to remember the lives and legacies of:

• Glenn Martella

• Robert Anderson

• Tom Ford

• Darrel Polasek

• Jerry Austin

These men represented the very best of Ferndale. They were more than just colleagues; they were mentors, friends, and protectors of this community. Their combined years of service saved countless lives and inspired the next generation of firefighters.

Though they may have answered their final call, their spirit remains a permanent part of this station. We extend our deepest condolences to their families and thank them for sharing these heroes with us.

Rest easy, brothers. We have the watch from here.
