2/14/2010 – Firemen’s Games

Company 2 won the hose lay, Company 1 cooked.

2/20/2010 – Annual Dinner

Awards from the games were presented, and Byran McWaters received the 2009 Fireman of the Year award.

5/22/2010 – Open House

With the new hall completed, it was time to show it off to the public. We had the smoke trailer and fire extinguisher demos as well.

6/19/2010 – Country Hydrant Drill

We used the Crosby hydrant and a double pond setup to drill on country water supply.

7/2/2010 – Vegetation Fire

Someone’s compost pile got a bit too warm.

7/3/2010 – Flag Pole

Volunteers from the department spent most of the day Saturday installing the new flag pole in front of the new annex, just in time for the 4th of July. The flag pole was donated by one individual and the shipping was donated by another individual. While we were waiting for the cement to harden, we placed the new generator into position behind the old hall.

7/4/2010 – 4th of July Fire Engine Rides

The flag was raised on the new flag pole and then the rides began.

9/16/2010 – Auto Extrication Drill

The use of the hydraulic tools and other extrication methods were reviewed.

11/7/2010 – Training Burn

A small structure on Harper Lane was burned to provide live fire training.

12/5/2010 – Putting Up Lights

Once again the FVFD members put the lights up on America’s tallest living Christmas tree.
