Ferndale Volunteer Fire Department

The westernmost fire department in the contiguous United States.

Founded in 1897, the Ferndale Volunteer Fire Department is responsible for the preservation and protection of life and property for the City of Ferndale, and the surrounding rural area. The department is composed of three engine companies and one medical company. The last few years we have been averaging over 200 fire and medical calls a year.

In addition to providing fire and medical services for Ferndale, FVFD also hosts two yearly blood donation days, offers free rides to kids on the fire engines on the Fourth of July, decorates the town Christmas tree with lights, and occasionally offers training to the community on topics such as CPR and fire extinguisher operation.

We are always looking for new members to join our department. If you live or work in Ferndale, and would like a rewarding hobby that greatly benefits our community, download an application, and hand it to any of our chiefs or members, or mail it to our address.
