The fire hall was built in 1915 and was home to City Hall and the Police Department as well as the Fire Department.
It went through a major renovation in 1997, as apparatus kept getting wider and taller and they could no longer fit through the doors.
In 2009 work was begun on the annex across the street, as the department was once again finding it hard to fit engines and tenders into the old hall, as they had continued to grow in size.
